Transparency around fees and pricing

Therapy is an investment to your well-being. I take that investment seriously and want to provide you the best care.

By not accepting insurance this allows me to

  • maintain your privacy and confidentiality. Insurance companies frequently audit files and deny claims and services as they deem fit. By not using insurance, you get full control over who gets access to your records!

  • not be required to diagnosis. In order to have insurance reimburse for services, there needs to be a qualifying diagnosis. Many clients seek out therapy for self-growth and normal life stressors, which do not meet requirements for a mental health diagnosis. Some people also choose not to have a diagnosis on file. This is your right and something you get to decide by not using insurance.

  • work with you on deciding how often and when to meet. Insurance companies like to decide how long sessions are, how frequently they are, and even how long treatment should be. This does not work in real life and is not tailored to your specific needs. You and I can decide on length and frequency of sessions.

Have a question not listed? Feel free to schedule a consult or contact me here. No two therapists are the same so whether you are new to therapy or have seen several therapists, this can be a confusing process. I aim to make it as easy and safe as possible.

Superbills and Out of Network Benefits

Just because I do not accept insurance doesn’t mean you automatically can’t use your insurance benefits.

If you are looking to use your insurance benefits, you can either call your provider and check if they offer what are called Out of Network Benefits. I can also check using a website called Reimbursify during our free consultation call.

If you qualify for these benefits, you will need a diagnosis on file and at the end of the month you can receive a superbill which you submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

This means you pay my fee upfront and if you have benefits you get a percentage of that fee reimbursed back to you directly from the insurance company.
